Gunfight is a PC browser shooter that opens straight into the arena with one game menu: PLAY takes you to a free for all table, and WAGER opens the table lobby for all three modes, each played for one buy-in a seat against real players only. In Duel, one against one or two against two, both teams spawn every round with exactly the same loadout and one life each, and wiping the other team takes the round. The first team to the round target printed in the lobby takes the pot. Sides swap every round, the first two rounds are pistols only, and after that the loadout changes every two rounds, the same for everybody.
Defuse is the bomb mode, from one against one up to five against five on the Kiln and Meridian maps. Attackers carry a charge to a site and hold the use key for 3 seconds to plant it; defenders stop the plant, run out the clock or defuse it, in 10 seconds or 5 with a kit, before it goes off 40 seconds later. Every round pays money for wins, losses in a row, kills, plants and defuses, and you spend it in your spawn at the start of the round on guns, armour, a kit and grenades: an HE grenade, a flash, a smoke that blocks sight and a fire that burns the floor. Sides swap at the half, and a tie one round short of the target plays a six round overtime and, at three all, one deciding round, so a Defuse match never ends in a draw.
Free for all is a table for 4, 6 or 8 players where every seat pays the same buy-in and the winner takes the pot, less the house rake. PLAY joins the fullest open table at your buy-in, or opens the create form when there is none, and the match starts the moment every seat is paid. Everyone fights for themselves with the same guns: one main gun and the pistol, named on the table and changing with each new table on a map. You respawn a couple of seconds after you die away from the nearest enemy, with full ammo and a short spawn protection that ends the moment you fire. The first player to the kill target wins on the spot; when the clock runs out first the most kills wins, fewer deaths breaks a tie, and players level on both split the pot. Leaving, or not playing for about 30 seconds, forfeits: your buy-in stays in the pot and you cannot win, and if everyone else leaves the last player in wins.
In Duel, if the round clock runs out with both teams alive, the team with more health left wins the round. In the last stretch of every round each player's position flashes on the enemy's screen every few seconds, so hiding out the clock does not work. An exact health tie opens a capture zone in the middle of the map: hold it alone long enough, or wipe the other team, and the round is yours. After 20 seconds of overtime every player's position shows to the other team, and after 90 seconds the round ends with nobody scoring and the next round starts.
Gunfight is a PC game, played with a mouse and keyboard; on a phone or tablet you can watch a match but not play. When your match starts, click PLAY on the arena and it goes full screen with your mouse locked to it; Controls in the menu lists every key. You move with WASD, aim with the mouse and shoot with the left button; hold the right button to aim down sights, Space jumps, C or Ctrl crouches, Shift walks quietly, R reloads, 1 and 2 pick a weapon, Q or the mouse wheel swaps, Tab shows the scores and holding V talks on voice chat. In Defuse B opens the buy menu, E held plants or defuses (and swaps you onto a dropped gun), 3 or 4 takes out a grenade, 5 the charge and G drops what you hold. Esc frees the mouse and opens the menu while the match keeps running; RESUME puts you back, and SETTINGS holds sensitivity, field of view and the crosshair.
In Duel and Defuse a player who stops sending any input is marked AFK, and a team that is entirely AFK or gone for too long forfeits the match. A dropped connection can come back and carry on with the same player, so a short blip costs you nothing but the time you were away. Cheating of any kind forfeits the winnings.
Nothing in a Gunfight is left to chance. Every gun has a fixed spread and recoil pattern, every grenade flies and bounces the same way from the same throw, the loadout schedule and the prices are the same in every match, and the player who opens the table picks the map. The server runs the match and checks every shot, so what decides the money is how you play.
Can I play Gunfight on my phone?
No. Gunfight is a PC game played with a mouse and keyboard, so creating or joining any table needs a computer. On a phone or tablet you can still watch any live match.
How does Gunfight free for all work?
It is a table for 4, 6 or 8 real players. Everyone pays the same buy-in, everyone carries the same gun and respawns after dying, and the first to the kill target, or the most kills when the clock runs out, takes the pot less the house rake. Players level on kills and deaths split it. Leaving forfeits your buy-in, and the last player left wins. There is no free mode.
What happens if my Gunfight opponent leaves?
A player who stops sending input is marked AFK, and a team that is entirely AFK or gone for too long forfeits the whole match. If both teams are gone, the side that left first forfeits, and if they dropped at the same moment the pot is split between every seat, less the house rake. A dropped connection can rejoin and pick up the same player. In free for all, leaving forfeits your own buy-in to the pot, and the last player left wins.
Does Gunfight have voice chat?
Yes. Hold V in a match to talk. In free for all only players near you hear you; in Duel and Defuse your team hears you anywhere like a radio and enemies only up close, and while you are dead only your team hears you. Hold Tab and right click to mute a player, and SETTINGS turns voice off or sets its volume. A player muted or banned in the site chat cannot talk.
What is Gunfight Defuse?
The bomb mode. One team plants a charge on a site and the other stops it or defuses it, with round money to buy guns, armour and grenades. Tables run from 1V1 to 5V5, sides swap at the half, and an overtime plus one deciding round means there is never a draw.
How does a Gunfight Duel round end in a draw?
When time runs out the team with more health left wins. An exact tie opens a capture zone in the middle of the map, and the team that holds it alone, or wipes the other side, takes the round. After 20 seconds of overtime every player's position shows to the other team, and after 90 seconds the round ends with nobody scoring and the next round starts.
